Foogo sippy cups

February 4, 2008 | Broom Hugged, Shopping

Thermos has come up with a new line of sippy cups called Foogo. These things are pretty awesome.

First off, they’re BPA-free. (And they look cool too!)They’re stainless steel, and the drinking spout is made of thermoplastic elastomer. The leak-proof valve is polypropelene (#5). There’s no biphenol A in any part of the sippy.

There are 2 styles - the sippy seen in the picture here, and a straw-based sippy for older toddlers.

But the really great thing about these sippies is that they keep your cold drinks colder longer, and warm drinks warmer longer. That means you can send some chicken noodle soup for lunch with your preschooler, and you can have the confidence that your toddler’s milk will stay cold (and therefore resistant to bacteria growth) hours longer than in plastic insulated sippies.

For more information, check out Thermos’ information on preventing foodborne illnesses here. I’ve gotta get me some of these cups. Anybody know how leak-proof these really are? According to their website they leak less than other popular sippies on the market, but we all know how unbiased their review is about their own product.
