Cleaning caddy - do you have one?

May 29, 2008 | Organizing, Food & drink, Cleaning tips

If not, you’ve gotta get one. Wait, scratch that. You’ve got to get one for each floor of your home. Downstairs, upstairs, loft, basement. Stock it well and it’ll be your best speed cleaning friend. Analyze what your cleaning needs are for each floor and stock your caddy with everything you need to accomplish it. Most of it will be self-explanatory, but here are the basics:

  • Cleaning liquids: all-purpose, window/glass, degreaser, furniture polish if you use it
  • Specialty products you like: scouring powder (like Bon Ami), toilet bowl cleaner, disinfectant spray
  • Sponges, feather duster, and microfiber cloths
  • Toothbrush or grout brush and general scrub brush
  • Scraper - my favorites are Pampered Chef’s and Cook’s
  • Special purpose tools like a squeegee, lint roller

Use it, abuse it, keep it well stocked. Carry it with you from room to room as you clean and it’ll save you oodles of time.

I enjoyed checking out some of the information on your site. Great tip on the bug repellants, I will have to try the lemongrass as here in Florida it’s nice to be outside in the summer evenings when it’s cooler, but the bugs think so also! I enjoy sites like yours as I also have a blog and enjoy sharing helpful tips with others as well. I use www.mooreoutoflife.com and as I find information online or from others that I find very helpful, I like to pass it on. Thanks for sharing!
