Do not taste sausage before heating, just in case you goofed and bought the uncooked variety.

If however you accidentally put raw meat of unknown quality in your mouth, you may avoid food poisoning by gurgling straight vinegar and chasing it with a shot or two of vodka. This is a rather unpleasant process, and the best medicine is prevention. Raw meat should not be consumed…  (in case you were wondering…)
