I’m Kathy. Mom to Bean, Bruiser, and Little Man. Back in 2004 when I first started having babies I cleaned my house with Mr. Clean and Lysol and all those chemical-laden cleaners. As Bean was napping one day I mopped the floor. I opened all the windows, but coughed through it anyhow. And then I began to wonder, what would those chemicals do to her little lungs? And what would happen to her hands as she crawled on my newly cleaned floor?

The transformation began in my home that day. Chemicals went away and I learned other ways to clean my home. After that our pantry became home to organic foods. A garden grew in the backyard where there used to be grass dirt. Plastic water bottles were banished, I developed a collection of reusable bags… It took years for the transformation to be complete, and it’s still a journey.

I believe in reusing and repurposing. I believe in downsizing on stuff and simplifying life. And I believe in taking care of this world for my kids.
